dates back to 1907, the year we started our business activity. At that time the company's technical facilities allowed for the production of 12 tonnes of cardboard and paper per day. Over the next 20 years the company developed dynamically, which enabled the expansion of the plant area and the purchase new production machinery. The year 1928 marks the beginning of our operation as a joint stock company, which resulted in continued rapid expansion. In just 10 years, we have upgraded our machinery with 2 new drying cylinders and a number of devices used in waste paper processing.
The year 1939 marked the outbreak of the Second World War. This was a difficult time. The company struggled with a lack of funds for improvements and necessary repairs. In 1945, we faced the possible closure of the factory, but through the use of spare parts from other plants and the dedication of our team, we managed to return to the times of earlier glory.
By 1958, employment in our company had increased from 95 to 245 employees, which enabled an increase in production from 2 950 tonnes to 9 600 tonnes per year. The 1960s were a time of very dynamic growth. During this time processing raw material was mechanized and a system of scales was installed in order to accurately monitor the supplies of materials. Improvements made to the cardboard processing machine increased productivity by 30%. As a result, we provided 25% of domestic paper production.
The next 30 years were not an easy time. At the time, Poland was facing serious economic difficulties. As a result of the foreign policy pursued at the time, the country was cut off from access to Western markets. In 1972 and then in 1997 there were changes in the factory's ownership. As a result of imprudent management decisions, in 2008 the company ran into financial and technical difficulties. Following a change in management personnel and economic strategy the company has returned on a path of rapid growth, despite past mistakes.
Acting swiftly in order to modernize the plant, in 2009 and 2014 we put into operation two new paper processing machines: one for the production of hygienic paper from secondary raw materials and another for the production of paper from cellulose pulp. The introduction of these machines allowed us to expand the range of offered products. In 2011, we began the process of building a converting facility, through which we produce a wide range of final products.
As a result of constantly increasing environmental awareness we launched a modern wastewater treatment plant, which allowed us to significantly reduce our water consumption. We replaced the coal-fired boiler plant with a gas-fired one. In 2025, we purchased a state-of-the-art environmentally-friendly paper-making machine that delivers high-quality paper without harming the environment.
Our products are well-recognized and valued by customers in more than 20 countries, which motivates us to pursue further growth.
